    Mission Statement

MISSION STATEMENT DellArte is the American center for exploration, development, training and performance of the actor-creator. Our mission is to create theatre, an international, professional theatre training program, and a regional art center that employs and revitalizes traditional physical theatre forms to explore contemporary concerns. Our four principal programs are: The DellArte International School of Physical Theatre, The DellArte Company, the Mad River Festival/DellArte Presents season, and Education Through Art. CORE VALUES We believe in: Reflecting the cultural, ethnic, social and historical diversity of our community as well as expanding it. The power of the arts to positively impact the education and lives of young people. The exploration of the relationship between art and place, artist and community. Ensemble and collaborative practices that place the artist at the center of the work. The transformative power of theatre. The ability of the actor-creator to make art that reflects the complexity of living, that is both particular and universal. That we teach by our example as well as our pedagogy. The seriousness of comedy.
